About Us . . .

Meet Tina Marsh and Alice Bass

We met about 25 years ago when we were both attending the same church. We were teaching at the same school,

but on different halls; so we didn't know each other that well.

Our music director asked for a volunteer to lead our church drama group.

And we both volunteered so he suggested we work together. We credit him for our friendship! 😊

We became best friends, even surviving taking family vacations together!

Over the years, we moved together to the next two schools, our educational expertise continuing in grades kindergarten

through 5th grade, preschool, and gifted programs.

We both retired in 2015 after each of us had taught for 35 years.

The idea of The Secondhand Schoolhouse came to us about a year before retirement when the two local school supply stores

in Newnan and Peachtree City closed.

We decided to rent a booth inside the antique mall Rockin' B Antiques because we weren't sure how things would go.

Eleven years later, we have been thrilled with the results!

People get us mixed up all the time. Both of us are used to being called each other's names, and we answer to them.

We also joke that we are sisters separated at birth!

Teaching and Church brought us together, but friendship and love keep us together.

We are very grateful to you . . . our family, friends, and customers who continue to support us.
